Sex Sells, Ford

HAPPY WEDNESDAY! It's nice out today. I don't really need my jacket. I'm wearing my Givenchy short-sleeve oversized henley out for the first time. It's netted on the sleeve so it's see-through. I wore a black vneck underneath but I might take that off later on.

Who is the Tom Ford man? Someone who is comfortable with himself and sex. What does he do? Investment banker or mutual fund investor. Or spoiled boy born into money. He's also fun and knows when to take a break. A carpe diem gentleman whose lifestyle indoors is the same as it is out.

Lanvin Spring/Summer 2008

Do I even need to say anything? The colors are amazing. The way the dresses are depicted are amazing. It's like a high fashion still shot of the movie 300. I love it. Olga Shere's complexion was also a good choice to highlight the colors of the dress too. I love Lanvin and Elbaz.

Messagerie Spring/Summer 2008

I always loved Messagerie. It's like Diesel, but not overrated and more thought out in presentation and design. If you know me, you know I like the layered but clean look.

That jumpsuit on the other hand. If I was a gay(or "post-metrosexual") car technician, I would totally be over it. Something about wearing a jumpsuit in public no longer appeals to me after that J-Lo era. Some people are trying to bring it back but...I don't know. I remember seeing it at Sears in 2005 and I turned to my friend and said overalls and jumpsuit are sadly going to be making a comeback in the next 5 years. She thought I was joking, but I'm getting the last laugh now, but in a sad way. Some trends predictions you kind of hope you're wrong on. YA KNOW?

I digress. I wonder what Messagerie's photographer told Douglas Reich to accentuate when he was in the overall. Did the photographer said ,"GIVE ME CAR TECHNICIAN!" and Douglas Reich, the model by the way, decided to pose like that. Whatever it may be, it makes me want to quit business school and become a car technician-just so I could look that fabulous.

Zegna Spring/Summer 2008

When I'm in my 30s with assets exceeding 500gs, annual income of 100gs+, I will be a Zegna man. The tailored suit screams class. Zegna's elegance aesthetic appeal and their craftsmanship are notorious in the fashion industry, for the more mature generation. The younger one associates themselves more with D&G, Dior Homme, Jil Sander, etc.

These ads make me want to be a great mind, makes me want to have Zegna suits lined up in my Goyard chest for travels, makes me want to wear them after having the dry cleaner super starch them so after closing a deal in China, I could doubly, wear them on the great wall of china and frolick with Chinese children, whose wardrobes are also pristine and immaculate.

After my young and foolish, carefree phase, I want to be a Zegna man. I want to be a Zegna man now but finances and tailoring doesn't allow it. Yet.

Karl Lagerfeld Spring/Summer 2008

I'm thinking about doing my hair like Brad's. I like the bleach blond look. Karl may be paying a homage to Agyness but I like that color. I think this is one of the few times I'll be able to pull it off. I'm just scared of going under the acid for 6+ hours only to have horrendous result and dye my hair back to black. Decisions... Heh.

Bottega Veneta Spring/Summer 2008

Bottega goes pastel. It's very Banana Republic. I think Bottega Veneta is trying to modernize the house and establish their characteristic that helps differentiate themselve. When I think of Bottega V., I think of weaved bags. You know, the interlocking criss-cross. But aside from that, nothing else. I do like the last ad, how the wood panels protrudes towards the picture. Is that bad that I'm focusing on the environment the subjects are in? And by subjects, I mean the clothes, not the people.

Diesel Spring/Summer 2008

I'm not a fan of Dtiesel because every guido and wannabe fashionista wears it. However, it seems Diesel is noticing that their brand is being saturated with such people that they're establishing different lines to retain exclusivity. They also stepped up their advertising budget from 5 perecent to 7 percent for 2008. So for all you Diesel fans out there, don' worry, that little sliver on your jean pocket will remain. For those who likes Diesel from the distance but scared to relate yourself to those of the style impaired, Diesel is coming out with a Gold line, which I assume will be more fashion/style oriented than simple trends. I must admit, I do like their outerwear and shoes.

By the way, I love Sean Harju praying on the "prayer runner." Haha. Too cute.

Lanvin Spring/Summer 2008

I love Lanvin Spring. The colors are amazing. They remind me of sea creatures. Albert Elbaz is one of my favorite designers right now. I think what makes him great is his weight so he always has this ideal, romanticized idea of what a woman should look and feel like and it shows.

Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2008

Ha! What a cute ad. Vicky's silly. I like how the bag string looks like a smiley face across her vagina. For some reason it's would not be surprising if Victoria Beckham could fit into a real life size marc jacobs bag...

Akris Spring/Summer 2008

The color! I love how her hair matches her outfit, matches her heels. Look at how hugging her skirts are. Every girl loves it when her butt pops out.

More D&G Spring/Summer 2008

This is bordering the line of Diesel for me...

Zegna Spring/Summer 2008

I read in an article the other day that Ermenegildo Zegna is trying to appeal to the younger generation, than the old, tailored fine clothing that they're known for. This ad shows it. Zegna is their younger brand and frankly, it doesn't make me want to buy the clothes. I want to buy the guys though. Heh.

Jil Stuart Spring/Summer 2008

I guess Lindsay Lohan wasn't requested to renew her contract? Heh. I love Irina Kulikova. I'm glad she's getting ad campaigns. I mean, she was Miuccia's favorite last season so of course that propelled her into notoriety. I love how it's cluttered, but the dresses stand out so much. It's a well done campaign.

Jil Sander Spring/Summer 2008

Clément Chaubernaud is so sexy wet. The ad is like the morning dew, fresh and clean. Fashion definately sells sex appeal. But I love the short sleeve jacket. I love the construction and simplicity of a Jil Sander suit. It always fit me so well.

Gucci Spring/Summer 2008

I found more pictures on the Gucci website. I love the suit in the third picture down and the pants in the fifth picture. The models are Natasha Poly and Mat Gordon.

D&G Summer/Spring 2008

Cluttered. Predictable D&G. As "filled" as this ad may be, I think it's the most simplistic, idea wise, of D&G in a while. I like how they glamerized/club-erize the 80s. Hah.

Models: Abbey Lee Kershaw, Denisa Dvorakova, Edita Vilkeviciute, Masha Novoselova, Ryan Daharsh, Simon Nessman, Tyler Scevers, AJ Jacobs, Trent Garrett, Leandro Maeder.

Burberry Spring/Summer 2008 ad campaign behind the scenes

I love this. Agyness is amazing with the poses, even for the accessories.

Emporio Armani Spring/Summer 2008

She looks awfully like Lindsay Lohan and the pieces of clothes they picked for the ad aren't special. Her breasts fall weird and I don't like how her thigh looks in the first picture. I like her hands though.

Etro Spring/Summer 2008

So cute. I liked Etro's spring collection 2008 more than their recent past ones because though they still incorporated bright colors, there weren't much loud prints. It was more Lacost but less tacky and more satorial.

Jil Sander Spring/Summer 2008

It's so airy! I love how the colors play so well with each other. I remember how the collection seemed so light and this ad definately captures that.
